The HNC in Construction is for people who want a professional career in the construction industry, whether they are just starting or already employed in it. It builds technical knowledge and practical skills for working in the built environment.
The curriculum comes from London South Bank University (LSBU), which is both long-term partner and awarding body, and takes a practical, design-focused approach. It is a pathway qualification that prepares learners for higher level study and qualifications.
Study is part time and runs for at least two years on a day-release basis, with sessions between 9am and 5pm on a college day that is still to be confirmed. Candidates need the approval and support of their employers to attend. The course runs only if enough applications are received, and fees could change.

Admission Requirements: Entry routes: three A levels (minimum DDE); BTEC National Diploma (minimum merit and two passes); Access to Higher Education qualifications (minimum 15 Merits and 30 Passes); or an equivalent Level 3 qualification (minimum 64 UCAS points) including a science and/or DEC. Applicants must hold five GCSEs A-C/grade 4 including Maths and English.
