BA/BS in Information Systems

AIU's Information Systems program sets out to give students a strong foundation in both the theory and the practice needed to solve real-world problems using state-of-the-art software and hardware. Coursework develops theoretical understanding alongside programming ability, training students to analyze a problem, weigh possible solutions, and build a working solution as part of a team, rather than treating technical and analytical skills as separate tracks. The program is designed to prepare graduates for a mix of career paths that span software system security, network and computer-systems design, big-data analytics, intelligent systems, and software design itself, across industry, government, and the local community, while also leaving room for further study in computer science. Alongside the technical curriculum, the department emphasizes professional interaction and ethical standards, aiming to produce graduates who can work credibly alongside other professionals in the field.
