This full-time first-cycle professional bachelor's programme in economics is taught by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Daugavpils University. It takes four years and carries the professional qualification of financier or economist.
Students cover micro- and macroeconomics, financial accounting and management, bookkeeping, entrepreneurship and e-commerce, the digital economy and data analysis technologies. Further courses deal with project development and management, marketing, banking, sustainable development and globalisation.
Graduates are prepared to work as economics and finance specialists in banks, financial institutions, companies and organisations at local and international level. Admission Requirements: Applicants sit centralised exams in Latvian, the first foreign language and mathematics, ranked on the average of all results. International applicants need English at level B2 or above. Extra points are given for an exam in economics or business economics fundamentals, and for Young Entrepreneurs School, Science School and JA-YE Latvija certificates.
