BA/BS in Ortozēšana-protezēšana

Orthotics and Prosthetics is a four-year first-cycle professional bachelor's programme in the health care study field, taught in Latvian in Rīga with 240 ECTS credits and classes on weekdays from morning to late evening. Graduates receive a professional bachelor's degree in technical orthopaedics and the qualification of technical orthopaedist. The programme is accredited until 28 May 2030. The theoretical part builds a knowledge base of human biomechanics, anatomy, physiology and other important processes, which later supports the choice of the most suitable assistive device for a patient. The practical part teaches skills in working with machinery for producing individually made assistive devices, the materials used in technical orthopaedics and production technologies. Placements take place in technical orthopaedics companies in Rīga and Jūrmala.
