BA/BS in Farmācija

Pharmacy is a bachelor's programme at the University of Latvia, taught in Latvian in Riga over six full-time semesters, with 180 ECTS credits. Graduates receive a health sciences bachelor's degree in pharmacy. The content of the programme is regulated internationally. It develops the pharmacy and information technology skills needed in the labour market, along with knowledge of medicines, of the substances used in making them and of recent scientific advances in the basic pharmacy disciplines. The curriculum builds competence in good pharmacy practice and stresses the importance of science-based approaches in the health protection system. The programme follows the basic principles of pharmaceutical care and their forms of delivery. During work on the bachelor's thesis, students develop independent and research skills. State-funded and fee-paying places are available.
