Diploma in Mechatronics (Mechatronic Systems Technician)

Mechatronics (Mechatronic Systems Technician) is a secondary vocational education programme at Riga Technical College (Rīgas Tehniskā koledža). It is taught in Latvian at Lēdmanes iela 3 in Riga, lasts four years in the day department on campus, and leads to the qualification of mechatronic systems technician. Mechatronic systems technicians work in production and service organisations, maintaining automated and computer-controlled processes, assembling and adjusting devices, and finding and fixing faults. They enter programs into programmable logic controllers, assemble drive and control circuits, and work with technical documentation. Mechatronics brings together four fields: mechanics, electronics, information technology and control. The programme admits students who have completed basic education (nine grades). Graduates can continue their studies at Riga Technical College (RTK) or Riga Technical University (RTU).
