BA/BS in Matemātiķis statistiķis

Mathematician Statistician is a professional bachelor's programme at the University of Latvia, taught in Latvian and studied full time on campus in Riga. It lasts eight semesters, carries 240 ECTS credits and leads to a professional bachelor's degree in statistical mathematics together with the qualification of senior data analysis specialist. The programme aims to train qualified mathematicians and statisticians who can work in Latvian public institutions and private companies, such as ministries, the Central Statistical Bureau, local governments, audit firms, insurance and reinsurance companies and banks. It also suits any profession that requires systematic, deeply grounded statistical analysis, mathematical modelling and data-based forecasting of future opportunities. Students study the theoretical base of the mathematical courses to support this work. Places are offered both as state-funded and as fee-paying.
