BA/BS in Politikas zinātne

This academic bachelor's programme in political science is taught in Latvian at the University of Latvia in Riga. Over six semesters and 180 ECTS credits, full-time students earn a bachelor's degree in social sciences with a specialisation in political science. The programme aims to prepare professionals with in-depth knowledge of political systems and public administration. Students study theory and practice relating to international developments and to the social, economic and political processes of the European Union, as well as Latvia's place within them. Graduates are prepared to carry out independent research and to take a qualified part in public and political processes. Some of the fee-paying places are co-funded, and the programme also offers state-funded budget places. Tuition is charged for each academic year, with a different rate for citizens of the EU, the European Economic Area and Switzerland and for citizens of other countries.
