Diploma in Darba aizsardzība

This short-cycle professional higher education programme at the University of Latvia prepares occupational safety specialists. It is taught in Latvian as part-time study over five semesters and carries 120 ECTS credits. Graduates receive the qualification of occupational safety specialist. The programme aims to train people who can organise, set up and run an occupational safety system in a company, and who can involve employees in improving their own working environment, so improving the quality of life of all workers. Students gain knowledge of labour law basics, occupational safety legislation, the assessment of workplace risk factors, the basics of occupational health and workplace ergonomics. The fee-paying places are shared with the professional bachelor's programme in occupational health and safety, and classes take place in Riga.
