Overview
This programme trains health-care service managers to plan, organise and run health-care services across the public and private sectors, aiming for an efficient, patient-centred system that delivers timely, high-quality and accessible care. Students gain knowledge of health-care service planning, patient-flow coordination and health-insurance systems, learn to draft strategic institutional development plans and apply quality-management principles, and study health policy, law, ethics and service marketing, with strong emphasis on health economics, including financing and payment models. Coursework builds competencies in resource management, conflict resolution and data-driven decision-making, including operating under complex or extreme conditions such as crises or emergencies, through case analysis of patient-flow, service-quality, accessibility, financing and personnel issues, and simulation exercises that model emergency or wartime scenarios and an institution's preparedness for extreme threats. Early subjects include the history and theory of management, digital literacy, health policy, public health services, and psychology, reflecting the sector's heavy regulation and the ethical challenge of balancing patient needs with system capability.
