Learning outcomes: Knowledge 1. To know the principles of fundamental, humanitarian, social and technological sciences necessary for forming a worldview, as well as methods and the possibilities of their application in business logistics, to comprehensively know and evaluate social, economic and scientific and technological progress phenomena. 2. To know the totality of economic relations, the legal acts regulating them, markets and their functioning mechanism, methods of business organisation management, perspective assessment, increasing competitiveness by ensuring quality, creating opportunities to solve the challenges posed by the information age in the context of sustainable development, making business logistics decisions. 3. General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme: To prepare and educate the professionals of transport and logistics who would know the phenomena of contemporary business and economics, the trends of science and technologies and the advancements of machinery, which ensure the development of transport and logistics services sector in the state and the EU; would understand the theories and fundamental laws of business, economics, and engineering and the methods applicable for adequate analysis and solution of complex transport and logistics problems, arising under completely new conditions, would be able to use the results of the most recent research and the practical skills acquired from the study programme in the field of chosen professional activity and would be able to participate in carrying out scientific and applied research in the field of transport and logistics relevant to Lithuanian society; Learning outcomes: Knowledge: · knowing the theories of fundamental sciences of the world-view, humanities and engineering and constantly shifting business and management theories, categories, principles, and methods in the changing environment of science and technological innovation; · Knowing the transport sector and logistic infrastructure, advanced technologies of passenger and freight transportation, the most recent transport and logistics information systems, which ensure the success of the entire transport process and business competitiveness; as well as innovative methods of creating value and risk management, the processes of the management of an organisation and decision-making, and the significance of entrepreneurship in the context of the processes of globalisation and European Union integration.
