This master's programme prepares advanced practice nurses to apply nursing-practice solutions grounded in scientific research, work independently across health care institutions, and take leadership roles in multi-professional teams. The 120-credit, four-semester curriculum covers clinical ethics, clinical pharmacology, pathological physiology, research methodology, health care system management and quality, and health promotion and disease-prevention programmes, concluding with a final master's thesis.
Learning outcomes include differentiating between health and disease, diagnosing acute cases and predicting critical states, selecting appropriate clinical interventions for life-threatening conditions, and recognising exacerbations of chronic disease to apply correct screening and treatment choices. Students also learn to plan and carry out research on nursing issues, critically evaluate scientific literature, and present findings in national and international contexts, preparing graduates to take over part of the clinical functions traditionally performed by doctors.
