This master's programme trains business-logistics specialists to turn research findings into innovative decisions that improve and grow logistics within the bioeconomy sector under constantly shifting business conditions. Coursework covers agriculture and food logistics, technology management, international and trade logistics, international business law, logistics information technology, managing logistics innovation and investment, research methodology, sustainable business models and leadership, and the design and modelling of logistics systems, concluding with a thesis. Learning outcomes include describing logistics technologies and the principles of modelling logistics systems for use under uncertainty, conducting applied logistics research to inform development decisions, preparing innovations in logistics management aimed at better economic, social and environmental performance, and planning the movement of goods and biological substances through a logistics chain serving the bioeconomy. Graduates are described as prepared for roles such as head of a logistics department or service provider, logistics manager, or consultant to logistics or business associations, as well as starting their own logistics business, with the option to continue into doctoral study.
