This programme trains specialists in inclusive education able to provide integral support within socio-educational industries, working across multi-functional support groups, applying special-education and compensation measures, and promoting the participation of people with special educational needs at every level of education. Students choose one of two specialisations: social education within multi-functional design settings, or special education built around inclusion, supported by elective subjects, exploratory practice and a substantial final thesis. Across both tracks, students learn to apply European and Lithuanian theories of social inclusion and universal design, interpret diverse personal and cultural needs using compensation and alternative-communication techniques, model crisis-management and empowerment scenarios through research, and coordinate interdisciplinary teams implementing support strategies. Assessment is cumulative, combining a final exam with self-dependent project work and its defence. Graduates can work as special or social pedagogues across schools, pre-school institutions, psychological-service providers, youth centres and non-governmental organisations, with access to doctoral studies.
