Overview
This master's programme trains intermedia artists who can reflect on the socio-cultural environment, carry out artistic research, and create across several media while connecting them together, working both independently and within creative collectives. Coursework covers the philosophy and anthropology of intermedia art, methods of artistic research, sound art, advanced photography, extended videography, intermedia production, marketing and financing, and the application of artificial intelligence to intermedia work, alongside a sequence of creative projects culminating in a thesis. Learning outcomes include identifying social shifts and tensions at the meeting point of society and art, studying them through traditional and contemporary artistic-research methods, choosing and applying appropriate technical and software tools for audiovisual expression, and developing a distinctive artistic style while planning a long-term creative career. Students also build skills in leading or working within creative production teams, arguing a socio-cultural or artistic position in more than one language, and taking responsibility for the consequences of their creative and organisational decisions.
