The Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) prepares educators to guide young learners through pedagogical technique, curriculum design and classroom management. The Faculty of Education spreads the course over three years, opening with academic writing and literacy modules, moving through curriculum studies and mathematics education in year two, and closing with civics, moral education and communication skills for teachers in year three.
Delivered face-to-face over 36 months at MNQF Level 7 for 360 credits, the course carries a total fee of MVR 94,000, billed at MVR 2,000 a month in year one and MVR 2,800 a month in years two and three. Admission follows the standard route, with a preparation-program alternative for unrelated Level 4 holders or 20-year-olds with two years of work experience.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Entry is open to applicants who have completed higher secondary education, hold a related Level 4 qualification, or have finished an approved Level 4 foundation program for this course. Those without this background can still qualify after an MQA-approved university preparation program, either following an unrelated Level 4 qualification, or from age 20 with secondary schooling completed and two years of relevant work experience.
