This three-year full-time honours degree trains students to design and build software applications, from smartphone apps to systems used in healthcare. It takes learners through each stage of the software development process and introduces emerging areas including artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT applications and blockchain.
The curriculum is organised in three levels. The first covers computer organisation, programming, decision mathematics, networking, databases and operating systems. The second moves to data structures, web and mobile development, user interface design, agile project management and software security, and a work placement comes before the final level.
