Overview

This full-time degree at the University of Mauritius concentrates on the skills needed for work in the software sector, with emphasis on building software to a specification. Demand for such people exists in public and private organisations alike. The first level covers fundamental topics for anyone entering IT. The second concentrates on technical skills in design, implementation and project management, including picking up work started by other teams. In the third level students carry out a final-year project. Applicants need two or more GCE A Level passes, among them Mathematics or Pure Maths. The degree takes three years at the normal pace and carries 200 credits, with an 18-credit final-year project. A diploma (120 credits) or certificate (60 credits) can be taken as an exit award.
