BA/BS in Architecture and Construction Engineering

Bouwkunde trains students to become building engineers who design buildings and prepare and guide construction projects from first idea to execution. Students look at the whole process and learn how technology, sustainability and regulations come together in one design. Projects address the housing task, water and soil, energy use and the sustainable renovation of buildings such as monuments. Students combine lectures and self-study with teamwork on real projects, taking different roles in the building sector. They visit construction projects in the Netherlands and abroad, and may choose an internship at an architecture or engineering firm. The four-year bachelor is taught in Dutch at Alkmaar and Haarlem.
