MA/MS in Systems Biology and Bioinformatics

Systems biology combines mathematics, biology and data science to study the dynamic interactions between the components of a living system, such as genes, proteins, cells and their environment, modelling and predicting biological processes in health and disease. The programme builds a foundation in mathematics and biology and teaches students to build models of biological systems so they can understand how those systems function, predict their behaviour, and design new experiments. Applications covered include molecular imaging, neurobiology, cardiovascular disease and cancer research, and the programme trains interdisciplinary scientists whose outlook on biological systems is broad, with particular attention to biomedical and human healthcare applications.
