MA/MS in North American Studies

This track encourages students to develop their own interests and build their own arguments within small-group seminars, learning to think, speak, and write critically about American topics, analyse aspects of American culture independently, and carry out research that crosses conventional academic boundaries. Students are pushed to construct their own persuasive analysis of whatever aspect of the United States interests them, with research topics spanning everything from popular culture to political and social questions as varied as the country itself, guided throughout by a team of international researchers working in American studies. The track also offers the chance to study abroad at a partner university or complete an internship, for example at a technology start-up, a newspaper, or a consular office in the United States.
