MA/MS in Theology & Religious Studies

Theology & Religious Studies examines how religion relates to conflict and peace, how anthropological research can deepen understanding of different lifeworlds, and where the boundaries of tolerance lie in societies, treating religion as a factor in political, cultural and social issues such as climate change, sexual health, meaning-making, heritage, radicalisation, migration, integration, conflict and peacebuilding, and debates over diversity and identity. The one-year MA offers several interdisciplinary specialisation tracks that each study religion in relation to a specific theme: Religion, Conflict and Globalization; Anthropology of Religion and Culture; Heritage and Religion; Religion and Pluralism, Ancient & Modern; and Spiritual Care, the last of which is taught in Dutch.
