MA/MS in Automotive Technology

The master's takes a systems approach to automotive engineering, reflecting how fast the industry moves as new technologies emerge. What was once a straightforward mechanical vehicle has become a controlled, high-tech system built from mechanics, electronics, sensors, and informatics, and rising vehicle intelligence has driven demand for engineers able to think at a systems level, work across disciplines, and view the vehicle as a whole rather than a collection of parts. The programme trains students to treat the car as a system, giving in-depth knowledge of essential vehicle components such as human-machine interaction, electric powertrains, real-time software, and dynamics, within a region where a large share of the Dutch automotive sector is based. Teaching combines generic core courses, electives, and project assignments, built around two specialisations, Smart Mobility and Sustainable Mobility, with the second year given over to an internship and a graduation project.
