MA/MS in Biomedical Engineering

Eindhoven's Biomedical Engineering master's trains engineers to carry out both fundamental and applied research at the point where physics, chemistry, mathematics, and electrical engineering meet medical and biological knowledge. As a relatively young engineering discipline built on integrating technology with the life sciences, it allows students to specialise in several different directions within a subject area that is inherently complex, with particular attention to innovation and development. The programme is research-driven and design-oriented, with most coursework carrying both a biomedical and a technical orientation, and academic training built around intensive involvement in research throughout. Graduates are positioned to work across several disciplines within biomedical engineering, for example developing or designing medical-technology products or services for industry, and it is possible to continue into training as a clinical physicist by taking specific elective courses during the master's.
