Overview

This one-week intensive course examines how poverty and inequality both shape and are shaped by individual behaviour, markets and policy in developing economies, using a microeconomic lens to look at how households, firms and governments interact under conditions of constraint and opportunity. It looks at both the conceptual and empirical sides of development's key dimensions, including financial inclusion, human capital, labour markets and welfare measurement.
