Bachelor's Programme in English

This two-year master in English at the University of Agder in Kristiansand gives advanced training in English literature or English linguistics. Students choose their specialisation from the start of study. Literature courses cover important works, interpretive strategies, and English and American politics and culture. Linguistics courses cover linguistic theory, analysis of language structures and experimental psycholinguistic approaches. Students build advanced skills in academic English, including scientific communication and discussion, and carry out an independent research project. The master prepares graduates for work in teaching, translation, tourism and public administration, and with practical-pedagogical training it opens the way to teaching positions.
