The further education in kindergarten pedagogy is a 30-credit part-time course for educators who are not kindergarten teachers and want to qualify as pedagogical leaders. It runs across two semesters and combines online work, teaching, gatherings at UiS and practical work, individually and in groups. Themes include play, learning, formation and care in kindergartens, didactic perspectives, and the kindergarten as a learning organisation, with leadership of children and staff central. The course includes two weeks of mandatory practice, which cannot be done at the student's own workplace. Together with the small-children pedagogy course, it qualifies for permanent posts as pedagogical leaders for predefined education groups.
