BEng (Hons) Fire Safety Engineering

The BEng (Hons) in Fire Safety Engineering at the International College of Engineering and Management trains students to approach fire safety design problems using scientific and engineering principles together with the relevant technology. The degree is taught in Oman. Applicants are expected to have finished 12 years of secondary schooling in a pure mathematics stream, with passes in English as well as mathematics, physics and chemistry. A diagnostic placement test in English, mathematics and science helps the college judge readiness, and the course includes support for developing English. Earlier learning or professional experience can be recognised under UCLan procedures. Progress is divided into stages, each of which carries an exit award for students who do not continue to the full degree. Optional work placements are offered, including a summer Industrial Experience Module of eight weeks once Year 2 is complete, which carries 20 notional credits.
