Midwifery

This midwifery degree prepares you to practise as a midwife through NMC-validated study that combines blended learning with placements. Midwifery reaches well beyond childbirth, and the course develops your ability to guide families through some of life's most significant moments with skill and compassion. The programme follows the Council standards for midwives, so graduates can apply to join the register and start practice. A foundation year is offered, and teaching is spread across Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough. Transfers from other universities cannot be accepted. Graduates may later pursue a specialist higher practice qualification at master's level. Practice placements run throughout the course, and you learn to provide care alongside the people and families you support. Teaching uses blended learning, so you combine online study with on-site sessions.
