Overview

The MRes in Archaeology supports original archaeological research within a structured postgraduate programme. Students can study on campus at Exton Park or through online distance learning, on either a full-time or part-time basis. Core modules ask why the human past matters, drawing on history, heritage studies and archaeology to engage with current theoretical and applied debates. Advanced research skills training prepares students to design and carry out independent projects of their own. The course is led by experienced academics and suits graduates who want to continue into further research or doctoral study in archaeology. Students finish with a research project that demonstrates their ability to frame questions, gather evidence and present findings clearly to specialist audiences.
