AA/AS in Psychology, General

Sinclair's Psychology associate of arts degree prepares students for beginning roles in education, mental health and community service, and for transfer to a bachelor's program. Required courses touch on social, abnormal and personality psychology as well as human development. Students also look at present-day psychological theory and practice. They practice scientific reasoning, learn how studies are designed, and draw conclusions about why people behave as they do. The program asks students to understand ethical standards in psychology, strengthen their relationships with others and express values that benefit communities from local to global. The Psychology department within the social sciences, communication and liberal arts division administers this program, which totals 60 credit hours in the version effective Fall 2012. Prospective students should review the full course list on the program page and meet with an academic advisor to plan their schedule.
