BA/BS in Biology, General

The Bachelor of Science in Biology serves students interested in life science, from ecosystems and habitats to cell and DNA research, medicine or teaching. The degree plan can lean toward pre-med, research, teaching life science or fieldwork. Practical experience comes from modern laboratory facilities, field trips, seminars and research projects. An integrated option lets students earn both the bachelor's and a Master of Science in biology within about five years. A pre-health professions program supports students heading toward medicine, dentistry, optometry, chiropractic and other health careers, and the department reports that pre-med graduates are admitted to medical school at a rate above the state average. Degree plans and faculty information appear on the program page. Prospective students can find the degree plan, course descriptions, faculty profiles and contact details for the department on the program page, along with scholarship information.
