AA/AS in Business Administration, Management and Operations

Business Administration at Bakersfield College lets students explore how organizations operate. Coursework draws on accounting, finance and economics, along with management, business law, marketing and human resources. The Associate of Science for Transfer is built as a first step toward a bachelor's degree at a California State University campus. Instructors bring experience from the business world and use practical exercises so students can apply ideas to realistic situations. Shorter options sit alongside the degree, including a General Business Job Skills Certificate for starting work quickly and a Strategic Management Certificate of Achievement focused on planning, leadership and communication. Students build problem-solving and decision-making skills, and counselors help them map out an education plan through the Business pathway, and the degree can lead to further study or direct entry into business roles.
