AA/AS in Anthropology

Anthropology covers human cultures, societies and origins through archaeology, biological anthropology, the cultural and language-focused branches of the field. Students develop reasoning, communication and analytical abilities. Graduates may continue at a university or look toward archaeology, museum work, heritage-site management, outreach and international development. Because it is a transfer degree, it points toward upper-division study in the CSU campus system, and students are encouraged to build an education plan with a counselor or transfer specialist. The subject belongs to the college's Social and Behavioral Sciences pathway, where advisors help students map out courses that fit their academic and career plans. Links on the program page lead to application steps, class schedules and financial aid. Students unsure where to begin can request guidance from the college's counseling or career and technical education advisors.
