BA/BS in Environmental Design

The Environmental Design major at Ball State is a design-centered undergraduate course of study about how people understand and shape the built environment. It is intended for students drawn to architecture-related work who do not plan to become licensed architects, and it is not open to architecture majors. Coursework centers on design studios, design communication, architectural history, structures, environmental systems and building technology. Students can add electives from architecture and other disciplines to suit their interests. The program takes four years and totals 126 credits, delivered on campus through the College of Architecture and Planning. Students choose between a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts; the arts option adds two years of foreign language study or the equivalent.
