MA/MS in Mathematics

This master's degree teaches mathematics and its uses in a wide variety of fields. Graduates go on to jobs in teaching, public agencies, industry or nonprofits, or continue toward a doctorate. The page admits that outcomes depend partly on each student, because this degree carries no single recognized meaning in the United States. Some enroll to strengthen their background before applying elsewhere. The requirement is eight graduate-approved term courses. Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in mathematics or a similar field. The degree sits within a graduate community where students work closely with faculty advisors on a plan of study that suits their goals. Prospective applicants should consult the program page and the relevant school admissions pages for current requirements, deadlines and tuition, since those details are not given on the program page.
