Medical Clinical Sciences/Graduate Medical Studies

This master's degree serves people planning careers in health. It surveys many subjects in medical science and strengthens a student's academic record before applying to a professional school. The courses borrow from what first-year medical students learn, with graduate classes at that level in biochemistry, cell biology, physiology and immunology. Additional graduate offerings allow exploration of other medical and biomedical research topics, and some students lean toward nutrition, public health, clinical investigation or counseling for mental health. Students write a thesis based on either research or literature. The degree takes four terms and can be done within one calendar year or two, with identical coursework and cost. Plenty of students pick the longer schedule to build experience in research, clinical settings and volunteering.
