BA/BS in International/Globalization Studies

The Bachelor of Arts in international studies is a multidisciplinary program aimed at understanding global links and world affairs. It is offered as both a major and a minor, and students can steer their studies toward issues that matter to them, such as environmental justice, democracy, conflict resolution, or international development. Language study is central. Students develop fluency and cultural awareness in an additional language or two, with Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian among the choices. Further classes cover history, geography, economics, politics, and communication, and must complete a study abroad requirement. Possible careers include diplomacy, international trade, law, and economic development, along with nonprofit, public administration, and foreign service roles. The flexible structure suits students who want to combine global interests with a second field.
