Overview

The Communication concentration is a wide-ranging set of courses spanning several disciplines. Students learn to read and interpret how people communicate across cultural, personal, relational and technological contexts. It fits students who intend to transfer for media studies or liberal arts communication. Anyone aiming for work in television, film or radio soon after graduating is pointed to the Media Studies concentration. The plan of study is arranged semester by semester and pairs general education courses with concentration electives, so graduates can continue toward a bachelor's degree. Students placed into developmental math or English start those courses in the first term, and an advisor helps with course choices. Cape Cod Community College is a public community college in Massachusetts, and this associate degree gives students a lower-cost starting point before they move to a bachelor's program elsewhere. Prospective students can review the full list of required courses and credits in the online catalog, and the admissions office can explain application steps, placement testing and available support services.
