Program details

Overview

The engineering associate degree with an electrical focus is taught at the La Plata Campus in the STEM division. It falls in the STEM pathway. The degree is structured so that its courses move together as one block into bachelor's engineering programs across the state, instead of being reviewed individually. This design aims to make the move to a university simpler. Graduates enter the receiving institution as juniors in electrical engineering. The college also describes a joint pathway with the University of Maryland leading to a bachelor of science in mechanical or electrical engineering. That route can be finished at the regional higher education center in Southern Maryland or on the main university campus, and students may have an internship opportunity with a naval air warfare center.
