The Engineering associate of science degree prepares students to transfer into a four-year engineering degree. It is taught at the La Plata Campus, housed in the STEM school and the related pathway. The overall aim is a smooth handoff to the university that will award the final degree, so students can finish the first two years close to home. Students complete a shared set of core courses and then pick electives that match the discipline they want to pursue, among them mechanical, civil, chemical, and aerospace. After finishing the sequence, they can move to a four-year institution to continue toward the bachelor's degree.
