Overview

The Applied Statistics Certificate offers graduate students a focused way to build statistical skills without committing to a full master's degree. It is completed with six courses. Three of the courses form the required foundation, a sequence of applied statistics classes numbered in the four hundreds. For the other three, students select from several options, including regression analysis, nonparametric methods, sampling theory and the design and analysis of experiments. Certificate students follow the same standing, probation and dismissal rules that govern the department's graduate programs, which are spelled out in its student handbook. Near the end of their program they must request degree conferral through the university's online system so staff can audit their courses before awarding and sending the certificate. Prospective students can review the full requirements and course lists on the program's catalog page at DePaul University.
