BA/BS in Mathematics

The Mathematics major builds analytical reasoning and the ability to solve problems for students headed to graduate school, high school teaching or actuarial work. Professors present mathematics through practical instruction rather than abstract drills alone. An actuarial track applies mathematical and statistical methods to risk in insurance and finance and helps students prepare for certification exams. A data science track introduces computing tools, statistical techniques and algorithms for decision making. Minors are also available for students who want analytic skills to complement another major. Prospective students can ask the admissions team for details about enrollment, request information through the university website, or apply online. Evangel University is a Christian institution, so the program is taught within a faith-centered community where learning and personal calling are expected to inform one another.
