Overview

Students in this associate degree handle modern test equipment from the opening week and use digital oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators. Some choose instead to design and assemble devices of their own. An advanced electronics lab provides space to design, build, and test electrical parts and wiring. Student groups such as the Electronics Club and Fab Lab Club offer ways to meet peers. Transfer agreements with Milwaukee School of Engineering and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee open a route to a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. The 69-credit program is housed at the iMET Center run by SC Johnson and starts each fall. Graduates are prepared to work as electrical engineering technicians, general engineering technicians, or biomedical equipment technicians. The mix of lab practice and club involvement helps students gain confidence with real circuits before entering a workplace.
