PGCert in Clinical, Counseling and Applied Psychology

The Applied Psychology Graduate Certificate is offered through the Human Factors and Applied Cognition program in the Department of Psychology. Students choose one of two concentrations, transportation human factors or usability. Each concentration pairs core coursework with electives that connect psychological research to real-world design and safety problems. Students who want to focus on a single area can choose the concentration that fits their goals. The transportation human factors concentration includes courses in cognitive engineering, research methods, and a human factors seminar, with electives that may include aviation-related topics when approved by the program director. The usability concentration focuses on how people interact with products and systems. The certificate may be pursued full time or part time. Students finish with applied research training that supports careers in human factors work.
