Cert in Fire Protection

The Fire Science program aims to develop firefighters at all ranks into stronger officers and leaders. The courses introduce, develop and reinforce the knowledge, skills and attitudes that firefighters need to be hired and promoted. The program also gives current members of the fire service a chance to retrain and update what they know. Learners explore the responsibilities of supervision and command, which makes the credential relevant to both new recruits and experienced personnel seeking advancement. Georgia Northwestern Technical College publishes a course-by-course pathway for each credential, so enrolled students can see which classes come first and plan their semesters in a sensible order. The college lists this program among its offerings at the campuses it serves in northwest Georgia. Prospective students can request information, arrange a campus visit or submit an application through the college website, and financial aid staff can explain how to pay for the coursework.
