Cert in Applied Horticulture and Horticultural Business Services

Applied horticulture at Georgia Northwestern Technical College introduces students to growing and caring for plants in commercial and residential settings. Coursework spans propagating plants, running a nursery, building and designing landscapes, and installing irrigation, with classroom study alongside practical work. Graduates look toward employment with landscaping firms, public gardens, colleges, home improvement retailers, or their own small businesses. The training suits people who enjoy outdoor work and want to turn that interest into a trade, with a mix of design thinking and hands-on horticultural skill. Georgia Northwestern Technical College publishes a course-by-course pathway for each credential, so enrolled students can see which classes come first and plan their semesters in a sensible order. The college lists this program among its offerings at the campuses it serves in northwest Georgia. Prospective students can request information, arrange a campus visit or submit an application through the college website, and financial aid staff can explain how to pay for the coursework.
