MA/MS in Computer Science

Advanced work in algorithms, programming and applied computing forms the core of this graduate degree at Governors State. Electives leave space for students to pursue interests including digital forensics, cybersecurity, data science or virtual reality, which lets each person shape the program toward a chosen specialty. The degree is designed with working adults and people switching careers in mind, since both groups often want to deepen their technical focus. Courses are project driven, and students conclude their studies by completing a seminar or, alternatively, a thesis, depending on their goals. After finishing, graduates are prepared to move into senior engineering positions. The thesis route also provides a research record that can support an application to a doctoral program. The result is a flexible path for anyone who wants to move beyond introductory computing knowledge.
