Program details

Overview

Computer Systems Technology is a bachelor's major focused on the practical side of computing technology. Students study how systems are set up, managed and supported in organizations. The major is housed in the applied science college. Applicants apply as freshmen or transfers, and a priority deadline is encouraged. Prospective students can join an on-campus or virtual visit and meet representatives from the academic department, the honors program and financial aid. Illinois State encourages applying before its priority date, which improves the chance of full consideration for the major and for scholarship funding. First-year and transfer applicants each follow their own application path, and current students have a separate route for questions about their plans. A request-information form lets families ask the department for more detail before applying.
