MA/MS in Fine and Studio Arts

The Master of Fine Arts in Art at James Madison University recognizes advanced professional ability. It is an on-campus, full-time, interdisciplinary program lasting three years, including two summer courses. Admission is very competitive, and only two to four students join each year. Graduate faculty have expertise ranging from painting and drawing to fibers, metals, ceramics, photography, sculpture, video and performance. Each student is given a private studio with round-the-clock access to equipment and labs, and they meet guest artists at events.
